Hi! My name is Ashleigh. I’m a South African high school student and amateur photographer. This blog is all about my perspective on photography; my tips, photos, and thoughts.
I’m a bookworm, animal-lover, and somewhat of a science-nerd. I’m also an introvert and perfectionist with a stubborn streak. I love watching Gray’s Anatomy and reading dystopian, sci-fi, and romance novels.
Growing up in South Africa, my family has been travelling to Game Reserves since before I was born. These trips were what originally got me interested in photography. I’ve been taking photos since the age of six, when I received my first camera.
Being surrounded by animals growing up, it seems only natural that I love photographing them. I likewise enjoy macro photography – it’s a whole different world up close. I’m always open to new photographic challenges and ways to further improve at my passion.

While you have some brilliant work posted here, I think I appreciate your descriptions just as well. It is super that you give insight to what is going on when you take the photograph, what you are trying to achieve and methods of doing so. You are very articulate, and I love to see the enjoyment this brings to you (and others). I will check in from time to time if you don’t mind. It is nice to someone doing positive things with their life.

As an amateur photogrpher you are very good! I see and read that you were grow up between animals, I’m also love animals and I have a lot of cats 🙂 I Like your photography and I’m alos an amateur photographer. I would like to see more of your photographs…
